Connecting with ConnectSport
I am really pleased to announce that ConnectSport CIC is the official media partner for the Leeds Summit on Community Sport for Development and Diplomacy.
It’s a real privilege to work with Simon Lansley, and his organisation, to celebrate the positive global impact of community sport whilst advocating for more understanding of its wide benefits and more support to the people who make it happen.
We’ll create Leeds Summit content at: https://connectsport.co.uk/campaign/campaigns including launching the ‘Leeds Declaration’ shortly after the Summit.
The Declaration will be informed by more than 70 Summit participants, practitioners and policymakers, athletes and academics. It will celebrate the scale, impact and potential of community sport to transform lives, communities and as a powerful global movement for social good. It will be a call to action for greater support for community sport leaders and act as an offer to form global partnerships to improve lives and communities around the world.
With the UK a world-leader in community sport and Leeds with its rich sporting heritage, cultural diversity, and active grassroots networks, we also hope that the Summit will launch Leeds as a global hub for Community Sport Development and Diplomacy. We’ll find out in two weeks!
ConnectSport is also supporting the 2025 SDN Online Convention the day after our Summit along with The Commonwealth Secretariat. You can register for that at: https://connectsport.co.uk/campaign/2025-sdn-online-convention
